Charge 3 is losing time

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have a hard time syncing my Charger 3 but after 20-30 minutes it’ll finally sync. Now a new problem has developed and it loses around 6-8 minutes of time between midnight and 8am when I wake up. The incorrect time will continue to slowly drop until I do the morning sync to see how I slept. Then, it’s the correct time. Today I noticed that it is losing time (so far 2 minutes) since it last synced 6 hrs ago. Is the watch battery fading and can it be replaced?

Hello @7D-plus. Welcome to the community forums!

Thank you for the detailed information and for the steps you've followed prior to posting. If your Charge 3 is still failing to sync, I'd recommend following all the recommended steps suggested in this help article: Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

I also recommend performing a restart by following the instructions here and a long restart by following the instructions below:

  1. Connect the device to the charging cable.
  2. While the device is plugged into the charging cable, press and hold the button down for 15 seconds.
  3. The device turns on and shows a battery icon. Two vibrations occur: first a short vibration, then a medium vibration.
  4. The device turns off.
  5. The device turns on and shows a progress bar and short vibrations occur. The progress bar completes. Note: A total of 7 short vibrations occur.
  6. Remove the device from the charging cable. The device shuts down.
  7. Important: Plug the device into the charging cable again.

In addition, I'd like to let you know that I'm not sure about what exactly could have caused this inconvenience, but I will suggest taking a look at this other help article to see if some of the instructions could help: How do I change the time on my Fitbit device?

Also, take into consideration that replacement devices are provided for products within the warranty period. For more information, please check: https://www.fitbit.com/global/us/legal/returns-and-warranty.

Hope this helps.

Same thing happened to my Charge 3 in February 2021.

I eventually got it to work again by completely removing all registered devices on my Bluetooth settings on the iphone, deleting the Charge 3 from my account and re-adding it from scratch.

MarreFitbit got me through it at the time.
