Bought a Charge 3 in May. It worked very well until December. Then display issues started (horizontal lines through display). After many reboots detailed in these forums, now the unit will not sync, is not recognized by either PC based software or Android phone app. It held such promise, but 8 months of life is not acceptable to me. Exploring other options.

I understand how are you feeling and appreciate all the efforts in trying to fix these issues. About the corrupted display, I recommend taking a look at this post and make sure you followed the instructions provided there.
Now about the syncing, check the help article: Why won't my Fitbit device sync? and follow the steps there.

Your Fitbit is still under warranty. Do a live chat with the company, follow their instructions and steps and be sure to get a case number
