Charge 3 keep-alive widget syncs but app doesn't

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Charge 3 seems to be syncing based on the keep-alive widget, but when I open the app, it has not updated. I've tried several fixes and suggestions already, but the same problem just keeps happening. I can't bluetooth forget or uninstall/reinstall the app every day or two. And the Charge 3 says not tracking sleep even though it does show in app WHEN I can get it synced.

Welcome on board @Dkociuruba, it's nice to see you around here! Thanks for already troubleshooting this inconvenience. Nice way to go!

While reading your post I was wondering if you've checked that the mobile device you're syncing with is included in our list of supported devices? If you're not sure, please see: Which phone and tablets can I use with my Fitbit watch or tracker?

Please keep in mind that when a device is not supported we cannot guarantee its functionality with the Fitbit app. It might work at a certain time and then it can stop working out of nowhere after an update. This is because the app is not optimized to that device and any change could impact the performance.

If your mobile device is included, please see: Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

You can add several Fitbit widgets to your Android phone, including the activity goal widget and widgets that allow you to quickly log activity, food, sleep, and more. The activity goal widget allows you to view your progress toward completing your daily activity goal directly from your home screen without opening the Fitbit app. For more information about changing your primary goal, see How do I change the activity goal on my Fitbit device?

Depending on your phone, you can add Fitbit widgets in one of two ways:

  1. Select Apps from the home screen.
  2. Select Widgets from the top of the page.
  3. Swipe until you see Fitbit.
  4. Tap and hold to drag the widget to the desired home screen.

Or:

  1. Tap and hold the home screen.
  2. Select Widgets.
  3. Swipe until you see Fitbit.
  4. Tap and hold to drag the widget to the desired home screen.

Hope this helps, let me know if you need further assistance!

Hello there @Bolicsteroids, thanks for jumping in here! Have you tried the steps I've posted here to add a Fitbit Widget to your Android phone? Are you getting anything different when going to either of the 2 options mentioned in the post?

In addition, if you want to see real-time data I'd recommend taking a look at: Can I see real-time data in the Fitbit app?

Give this a go and let me know the outcome.

In option one, the only contents in Apps are Exercise, Alarms, Weather, Settings, Relax and Timers.

The other option, assuming by 'home' you mean my phone 's home button, it's just brings up Google assistant.

Hi there @Bolicsteroids, thanks for coming back and for the details provided.

Would you mind sending me a screenshot of what you're getting when attempting the steps provided? My phone worked with the second option just fine.

As mentioned above, it will depend entirely of your phone model, but this should be available in your widget drawer by long pressing the main screen of your phone. This article will provide you more details: About the Fitbit app.

I think my Samsung S7 isn't supported anymore, I've tried moving the fitbit widget it won't move. No sync, no time updates, it says I need  a keep alive widget, however it's nowhere to be found, so I'm buying a proper watch, had enough now. No more fitbit for me
