Charge 3 lines on the screen

Charge 3 screen has broken graphics on left side of the screen. It started today. I have restarted multiple times with no success. I cannot read messages that come through because of this.

Hi there @piemd229, welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided about your Charge 3's screen and for taking the time to restart it prior to posting here.

Since the restart didn't work, I'd recommend to perform a long restart by following the steps below:

  1. Connect the device to the charging cable. 
  2. While the device is plugged into the charging cable, press and hold the button down for 15 seconds. 
  3. The device turns on and shows a battery icon. Two vibrations occur: first a short vibration, then a medium vibration. 
  4. The device turns off.
  5. The device turns on and shows a progress bar and short vibrations occur. The progress bar completes. Note: A total of 7 short vibrations occur. 
  6. Remove the device from the charging cable. The device shuts down.
  7. Important: Plug the device into the charging cable again

In case that neither of the restarts work, please check in your Fitbit app if your Charge 3 is still syncing. If so,change the clock face to a different one to see if this brings back the display. Don't worry if you cannot see anything on the display by now, this process is done through the Fitbit app. 

Give this a go and let me know the outcome.

The same thing has happened to my Charge 3. I've tried to reset my fitbit and change the clock face but I still have lines on my screen.

I have exactly the same problem, distorted screen appeared yesterday, and now today the screen will not come on at all. But it has synced. I tried changing the clock face via the app, and the app said this had been successful, but still have a blank screen. I've tried restarting the device as described, but didn't work. Very frustrating, and annoying!

I have had the same problem two times before. I have tried the reset with no success. I was told by Fitbit that my device was “corrupted “ and was given a new one. First two were covered by warranty(first one was charge 2, second charge 3). My “new” charge 3 now has done the same thing. Chances are warranty won’t cover this one. Makes me wonder why I bother with Fitbit. I have had multiple friend have the same experience and have not repurchased Fitbit and have gotten different brands.

Hello.. thank  you for the suggestions. I tried the troubleshooting that you listed but with no success. The messages that come through are still not legible. The lines are still there.

I have done this too but it isn’t shutting down like it’s supposed to the bar goes only 2-4 vibrations and then pops back to the smiley face screen with the lines all across it. I’ve tried 8 times and it just won’t shut off to restart.  I even made my husband try and he couldn’t get it to work either.
