Charge 3 not being accurate

Just received a Charge 3 for my birthday and it’s wildly inaccurate. Where I live is completely flat and it added on 66 flights of stairs. It’s also counting steps while I drive. I tried to reach out to customer support but got nothing. Can anyone help me trouble shoot this problem? I feel that it’s faulty and might need to return it.
