Charge 3 not charging

Having just purchased the charge 3 for my granddaughter as a Christmas present I find that it will not charge the percentage will say 95% great then the next time you check 75% when  you check by the button? as per manual, while the tracker charges, you should see a solid battery icon with a smile all I see is a smiley face and no solid battery icon she as now gone back to her charge 2.
