Charge 3 not logging Run as exercise

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I bought a Fitbit to log my runs and steps and for the past year it's been fab, however at present it's not fit for purpose and if I can't resolve this I'm going to look for an alternative non FB replacement. In the last couple of weeks, none of the runs I've done have been recorded as exercise. I have no data on time, distance etc. The FB will count the steps of a run. It will count the steps of a walk and will also count the walk as exercise and provide data for the walk, but it will not provide the same exercise data for a run. It's really frustrating.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the App - no change.

I've checked all settings. I've not changed anything, it looks okay.

Runs were logging fine until about 3 weeks ago and then they just stopped.

Any ideas gratefully received.

Hi @HelenC8, welcome to the Community Forums.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention and for trying some troubleshooting steps before posting over here, I understand how frustrating this matter can be for you. To better assist you and further investigate, can you please let me know which phone are you using with your Charge 3? How are you tracking your exercises? With the SmartTrack auto-recognition feature or with the Exercise shortcuts of your device? When was the first time you experienced this issue and how many times since then? In the meantime I receive your answers, please restart your device and let me know if the issue persists.

Looking forward to your reply..

Hi Ricardo
The answers to your questions are as follows;

1. I am using an iPhone SE
2. I am using auto recognition for walks and runs of more than 10
minutes. The walks are recorded but the runs are not.
3. I first experienced this @4-5 weeks ago and it has continued for
every run since then. The fitbit charge 3 records my steps on the watch and
the App, but doesn't record the run on the App as a form of exercise.
4. 4. I have restarted the device a number of times and it makes no
difference.

Thanks for your help

Helen
