Charge 3 not syncing

I have repeatedly tried to get my Charge 3 to sync with my Iphone.  Finally contacted support who had me do the exact same thing with no help.  Next thing I know I get an email stating my Fitbit is out of warranty, I guess blaming the fitbit.  This charge 3 was given to me by a friend who had no problems with it syncing.  I feel Fitbit could care less about it's customers. I have been a long time customer!
