After 3 years I tried to reuse my Fitbit charge 3. But the screen won’t light up. How can I reactivate?
Moderator edit: clarified subject.

Good to see you participating in the community @Clairevdp.
Thank you for sharing the inquiry regarding your Charge 3.
Please try charging it until the Fitbit logo appears on the screen. Sometimes the battery dies if you haven't used the device for a certain period of time.
Try to follow the steps listed in this help article: Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging?

I am having the same issues as the original author, And I tried your suggestion above about holding it for the fifteen seconds et cetera, As well as the article you mentioned in a previous reply... Nothing helped and it's still black.
Background, we purchased it mid-late 2022, if not the begining of 2023 (I was in a stroke memory fog, at the time, and remember getting it, but I no longer sense/remember time passing accurately). I haven't used it for about 6-8 months, at most, because of a terrible psoriasis flare-up that included both wrists.... After charging it it vibrate-pulses and the back/charging area flashes green, but the screen stays black...
So, I followed YOUR step-by-step instructions suggested above, to no avail & then I followed ALL of the suggestions in the article: I tested the connection between the Fitbit & charger, cleaned all charging surfaces, I tested the USB port, etc. But still nothing...
I then re-attempted your step-by-step suggestion (with notable differences between the 1st and 2nd attempts mentioned below): When I connected it to the charger, ensuring accurate connection & after about 0.5 to 1 second into holding the button, it vibrate-pulsed once...I continued holding & about 2 to 3 seconds later (after the 1st vibration-pulse) it vibrate-pulsed twice in a row. Then at around the 10 to (possibly) 11 second mark (total, since connecting) it started vibrate-pulsing repeatedly & continued until I stopped (holding/pressing the button). I let go/stopped holding/pushing the button at around 15 to 16.5 seconds... I disconnected it, waited about 4 to 5 seconds, reconnected it (making sure there was perfect alignment/accurate connection) and (again) after 0.5 to 1 second after secure connection it vibrate-pulsed once, but then nothing had changed...it's still black...
(Should mention that the only difference between the 1st attempt (then following all the article suggestions) and the 2nd attempt, is that the 1st attempt it had the same initial vibrate-pulse, but didn't vibrate-pulse again (repeatedly) until around 12 to 13 seconds, continuing until I stopped pressing/holding the button... (so no double vibrate-pulse, after the initial vibrate-pulse, and the continual vibrate-pulsing started a solid 3 to 3.5 (or even 4) seconds later (than during the second attempt)...
(I attached a pic, as my husband CLAIMS it's a Fitbit Charge 3, but doesn't know where he moved it's box (containing ALL original paper contents, etc.), & he's one of "those" who is "NEVER" wrong, so I'm honestly not 100% convinced, and still wonder if it MIGHT be a different model... Hopefully someone can confirm if I'm wrong about WHICH Fitbit this is (& therefore I'm using the wrong method)? Thank you!🙏)

I'd like to add that. I looked around on other sections of the same part of the form and found a closed/answered Question (unable to reply to) titled something like "My Fitbit Charge 3 turns on and vibrates but stays black" (or something similar)... I followed what the moderator called LizzyFitbit called the Ling start up process (which sounds/seemed the same as the process I already attempted), but it had a smidgen more info & descriptions, so I also noticed that when she said the battery, or charging symbol should light up, it never did, but it did vibrate-pulse the EXACT way she described, with the short burst, the longer "medium" burst, and eventually the 7 quick bursts (in the 15 seconds). But upon reconnecting & no change again (then thinking, as she had said the fitbit turns OFF) I tried turning it back on, but although it does the initial vibrate-pulse, the green light didn't come back on (and was flashing when I pressed the button, while disconnected previously), so...🤷:female_sign:
Not sure if thar adds additional help...
Also, I'm like 99% sure we connected the fitbit to my phone, but I have since gone through 2 or 3 more phones (that Samsumg model...sheesh!), and I know for a FACT it was never connected to this newest current phone...
I wanted to try the suggestion of "changing the clock face" (which until clicking & reading the article, pictured an actual watch and having to have the fitbit dismantled and a part, or parts, changed out 😂), but I'm not sure if I can just re-download the Fitbit App and it will automatically connect to THIS phone, for me to try it, or...?
I THINK that's everything y'all need to know, haha (maybe!)🤦:female_sign:
