Charge 3 not working

My Fitbit Charge 3 has stopped working properly. As soon as I remove it from the charger, the screen will briefly work, then goes blank and will not come back on. It won’t vibrate when I press the sides or anything. When I put it back on the charger and squeeze the sides, the smiley face appears and the screen lights up. When I take it off of the charger again, it goes dead again. Extremely frustrating!! I’ve cleaned the contacts, tried to reboot it, uninstall and reinstall, and I still have issues. Please help.
