Charge 3 notifications not working

Hi, I just switched to a new phone which is a Xiaomi Mi 9T, and I have a charge 3 and I noticed that when I set up my charge 3 to my new phone, that after the restart that the Fitbit app told me to do to get notification services running on my charge 3, that it still had that message saying, Please Restart to enable notification services. I did quite a bit of reading about it and tried may things, the only way I could get it to work is I cleared the data of the Fitbit app on my phone signed back into the Fitbit app, and then that fixed it but less than 30 mins later notifications were not coming through the watch, and the message telling me to restart my phone to get notification working showed up again. I was wondering if anyone would have an idea of what I could do to fix this problem because it really annoys me not to have notifications on my watch.

@SpencerDoski I appreciate the detailed information!

I would recommend performing the following steps on your Android device. This is in order to fix the notification service not running on your Android.

1. Please go to settings and select Apps in your Android mobile device.

2. Select Manage App and Find Fitbit there and click or tap on it.

3. Click clear data/storage for fitbit app.

4. Log into your Fitbit account one more time and the notification service will be running.

You will be able to setup notifications. For more information about setting up notifications, please check: How do I get notifications from my phone on my Fitbit device?

Hope this helps!

Hello @SpencerDoski Welcome to the community forums!

Thank you for the information and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried prior to posting! I'd like to mention that if your phone meets the requirements listed in this link, the Fitbit App and your Phone should work correctly. Otherwise, there will be some inconveniences related to syncing, setup and notifications.

On a side note, I'd recommend following the suggested troubleshooting steps from this help article:

Hope this helps!

Hi, I just tried what it said on how to get the notifications fixed and it didn't work sometimes when it does work it will work for 30 mins but then stop. This time it didn't work at all. Is there another thing I could do to get the notifications working?

@SpencerDoski Thanks for the trying the suggested troubleshooting steps!

Can you confirm if your mobile device meets the requirements to receive notifications and for the Fitbit App to work accordingly? Note that if one of the requirements is missing, then your Charge 3 may experience difficulties to sync and other features like notifications will be affected as well.

In the meantime, I also recommend performing a long restart to your Charge 3, by doing the steps below:

  1. Connect the device to the charging cable.
  2. While the device is plugged into the charging cable, press and hold the button down for 15 seconds.
  3. The device turns on and shows a battery icon. Two vibrations occur: first a short vibration, then a medium vibration.
  4. The device turns off.
  5. The device turns on and shows a progress bar and short vibrations occur. The progress bar completes. Note: A total of 7 short vibrations occur.
  6. Remove the device from the charging cable. The device shuts down.
  7. Important: Plug the device into the charging cable again.

I look forward to your response.

Hello again. I had a look and my phone meets the requirements needed to receive notifications. I tried to do a long restart on the watch but I don't think it did it properly. When I tried to do the long restart I plugged my watch into power held down the power button for 15 seconds then a smiley face showed up on the watch for about 5 seconds and then it just went to my watch face so I'm not completely sure if it worked. Even though I don't think the restart worked I check and notifications still aren't working and the Fitbit app in the notifications area still says notification services aren't working. Hope this new information is able to help.
