Welcome on board @Kellymcgihon, it's nice to see you here! Thanks for reporting this situation with Charge 3 turning off.

I'd recommend restarting your tracker by following these steps. Also, I was wondering if the Charge 3 vibrates when you press the button?

Let me know if you need further assistance!

Welcome on board @TheShillster! Thanks for jumping in here and for taking the time to restart your Charge 3 as suggested above

Since the restart did not work, I'd recommend manually reboot your device. From the clock face, swipe to Settings and tap Reboot Device

Keep an eye on your Charge 3 after the reboot and let me know if the odd behavior continues. We'll be around! Robot wink

Odd behavior?  How about this for odd behavior...

  • 8 second restart rarely works. From the clock face, in the charger, it gets stuck on a screen with toggles for notifications and screen wake.
  • When it "dies" it will vibrate continuously and a red light shows up instead of green.  It is unresponsive to touch until I put it in the charger.  Then I push and hold until it smiles.
  • Swiping to the reboot  and tapping the checkmark. Sometimes reboots it.  Others it doesn't.
  • A push-hold for a reboot resulted in a 1 2 3 progress bar across part of the display.  Then it went dead again.
  • It will tell me the battery is critical (battery with exclamation point inside a circle) but then I'll put in the charger and it will read above 70%.
  • I'll put it in the charger until the battery smiles.  Take it out, put it on and it will turn itself off (vibrates when it happened) within a minute.
  • Will be on, have plenty of battery and shut off randomly.  No vibrate, no notification, nothing.  All within a random period of time.  As quick as under a minute, or several minutes to several hours.

All the above happened in the past 24 hours.

I put it on the charger at 17:35 wit a 78% charge.   At 20:40 my charge 3 had a smiling. Battery (100%).  It's now back on the charger indicating ~35%, 4 hours later.

Odd enough for you?

Edit: I took it off the charger fully charged, and after a couple minutes, I felt a few soft vibrations on my wrist.  I looked at the Charge 3, it smiled at me, then went unresponsive.  App even says device not found.

Hi there I tried to resolve the black screen issue on my fitbit charge 3 using the 8 second soft reboot and also using the change watch face methods. The change watch face method sort of worked but now my fitbit only displays for like 1-2 seconds then shuts off the screen. Unresponsive to swipe and I can't even get to settings page to do hard reset. When I do the 8 second reboot I see the smiley face and vibration but it just goes black after that. Please help. Thanks.
