Charge 3 screen black

My Charge 3 screen stopped working about a week ago. I was going to let it die and try to charge it to see if that would bring it up but it didn’t work. I came on here and tried to ‘reset it’ with the plug it in, hold the side button, unplug then replug but that didn’t help either. Not sure what to do? It was purchased 12/2019, so it’s just under a year old.

Same problem..and it is also not synced to my phone anymore

Hi 

 

I have the same problem with mine. Bought mine Jan 2019 but since saturday the screen just bounces around , tried the restart that worked for a short while. Placed it n charge last night and this morning my screen is black , no response on my fitbit , wont even come on.

@Btribou I am sorry to hear your Charge 3 screen stopped working. Thanks for trying to resolve this, I appreciate the additional details and I am here to help. I recommend trying the following:

 

  1. Follow the complete troubleshooting instructions at Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging?
  2. Change a clock face: How do I change the clock face on my Fitbit device?
  3. Long restart:  
  • Connect the device to the charging cable.
  • While the device is plugged into the charging cable, press and hold the button down for 15 seconds.
  • The device turns on and shows a battery icon. Two vibrations occur: first a short vibration, then a medium vibration
  • The device turns off.
  • The device turns on and shows a progress bar and short vibrations occur. The progress bar completes. Note: A total of 7 short vibrations occur.
  • Remove the device from the charging cable. The device shuts down.
  • Important: Plug the device into the charging cable again.

I have tried this several times and it doesn’t work. Can you tell me what the next steps would be?

I received a replacement less than 3 weeks ago for the same challenge..today my NEW fitbit is having this issue.  Ive tried all of the suggested trouble shooting a number of times. 😡.  Seriously.. 2 Fitbits with the same issues in less than 3 months???? Guess I'll have to call the customer service once again.

Hi I've had the same problems the fitbit is not syncing with my phone I've just done the 15 sec thing and it comes up with a smily face . It was working fine till the update which I did a couple of nights ago . I bought this fitbit in January 2020.

Same problem and this doesn’t work at all! What do we all do now with a Fitbit that doesn’t work due to your update?

It looks like there is a serious bug in the Charge 3

I’ve had exactly the same issue.

I have been offered a replacement or 50% off a new product. The email comes with 2 links. One to replace and the other to upgrade. What they don’t tell you until you’ve clicked is that the 50% is on a selected range of trackers only. 

I went back to the original email but the like-for-like link has now gone 😡 Not sure I want another Charge 3 as the screen fade seems to be a common problem.

That’s where I am at too! I don’t think I want another charge 3 after all of the replies to my thread. This seems to be a common problem and I don’t want to get a replacement and then have that not work either. I was looking at the charge 4, is that one of the 50% offs? What a headache, because I really love my charge 3 prior to this.

I would like someone who can refund or give  me another Watch.  Money is too tight to have this happen, and not only to me but several others.

The same problem I've tried everything to get the screen back to no avail, it's working ok through the app but what's the point of that , so aren't these watches supposed to last more than a year then ?

quite expensive if that's the case
