Charge 3 screen black

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My charge 3 screen has turned black two days ago, and there is nothing I can do to change it. I have tried everything that has been written in the forums. It still vibrates, still counts my steps etc. on the app, it is fully charged. I have tried rebooting it and it vibrates after about 8 seconds (which means the reboot works) but nothing happens on the screen. I have tried to contact fitbit via the live app but it is not working either 🙂 What can I do???

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @HeleneLarsen.  Thank you for letting us know that you have tried everything to turn on your Charge 3 screen.

Please confirm that you have tried the long restart:

  1. Connect the device to the charging cable.
  2. While the device is plugged into the charging cable, press and hold the button down for 15 seconds.
  3. The device turns on and shows a battery icon. Two vibrations occur: first a short vibration, then a medium vibration.
  4. The device turns off.
  5. The device turns on and shows a progress bar and short vibrations occur. The progress bar completes. Note: A total of 7 short vibrations occur.
  6. Remove the device from the charging cable. The device shuts down.
  7. Important: Plug the device into the charging cable again.

Keep on visiting the forums.

I have the exact same problem. I was contacted by the support representative and after trying everything again with him the phone line went dead (?). I received an email saying that it was out of warrantee, and they would give me a discount on a new fitbit. So, I'm assuming that my Charge 3 died. I'm sorry you had this problem but glad to know I'm not the only one and that it isn't something I could have fixed.

The assistance I goat from the Support Team did NOT resolve the problem. The screen on  my Charge 3 is still black.

HI, I am also experiencing the same issue, this is clearly very common with the charge 3. I too have tried to resolve it using your restart guide several times which you have detailed above. However Im having to do it in the dark to have any remote chance of seeing something on the screen however it doesn't seem to be switching back on again or show a progress bar. I have also changed the clock face several times too but clearly with reading the other comments on here and seeing a post today with the same issue , Im guessing this isn't resolvable, though Im glad I'm not the only one with this issue.
