Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @Jgo1990.

I am sorry to hear your Charge 3 screen has gone black. I appreciate the additional details and I am here to help. I recommend doing the following:

  1. Restart the device: How do I restart my Fitbit device?
  2. Change a clock face: How do I change the clock face on my Fitbit device?
  3. If the issue still persists, please do a long restart:
  • Connect the device to the charging cable.
  • While the device is plugged into the charging cable, press and hold the button down for 15 seconds.
  • The device turns on and shows a battery icon. Two vibrations occur: first a short vibration, then a medium vibration
  • The device turns off.
  • The device turns on and shows a progress bar and short vibrations occur. The progress bar completes. Note: A total of 7 short vibrations occur.
  • Remove the device from the charging cable. The device shuts down.
  • Important: Plug the device into the charging cable again.

Keep me posted on the outcome.

I am having the same problem. I tried the reset, but that didn’t correct the problem.

Got same problem. The agent is giving me 25 percent discount for next purchase. It is not worth the money. Very frustrating seeing so many complaints and the manufacturer does not stand by their product. Wish I saw the complaints before I purchased it.

I feel the same way . I have only had it since November. I think it has
something to do with the recent update. If they fix it, I will buy another
brand.

Same thing here. Guess I'll try another brand.

I started having this same issue (as are a lot of others, apparently) this past week. I tried the troubleshooting suggestions I saw on the forum multiple times (plug into charger, hold button 15 secs, remove from charger, plug back in, smiley face, etc) and it would work temporarily, only for the black screen issue to eventually reoccur. Eventually, I just accepted that it must be the end of the road for my Charge 3 and I stopped trying to fix it. I just left it off the charger and let it die completely. Well, a couple of days later I decided to plug it in to the charger as I wanted to check my heart rate and like yours, mine was still tracking everything, I just wasnt able to see anything on the screen. After charging it, it came back on with no issues. Screen was functioning and has been on ever since....until I plugged it in to charge last night before I went to bed. After taking it off the charger (it did fully charge), the black screen is back. I hope this firmware release helps. Although, I'm nervous since I'm already seeing posts from people saying it has caused issues to their charge 3s. I just wanted to post my experience to see if it might help you.

I also, had tried to restart the tracker after getting the screen back one of the times but it made no difference. The black screen still occured a little while later. The only thing that seemed to have any real significance, as far as, allowing it to function normally for any length of time, was letting it die completely and then restarting it after a full charge.

I'm having the same problem. And I have tried all your solutions multiple times over multiple days for several months. It continues to charge, sync, and track but still a black screen. Is it time to just trash it and go buy something else?

I agree. This my second Fitbit that has stopped working correctly just after warranty expired. Time to give my money to a Company that makes a better product.

Hi Liliya. Mine also did this. Started acting up yesterday with continuously turning on and off with vibrations and changing screens. This morning it is completely black. I tried the reset yesterday to no avail and today as well. Nothing seems to be working. What can I do?

My Fitbit Charge 3's screen went black two days ago.  Was tracking for part of the day, took off to shower, and stopped tracking and screen black after that.  Have tried to reset, clean, etc.  Nothing works.  I too am disgusted with the product.  This is my third Fitbit and I just think that they should last more than a year or two.

The screen on my Charge 3 has gone black.  I tried restarting it, however that didn't work.  The smiley face appeared, however the screen went back to black and I can't get it to work.  I tried removing it from the app and I was going to re-connect/set it back up, however in order to pair the tracker they are sending me a code which I can't see because the screen is black?!  It still vibrates and it is tracking on my phone, help!!!

I am having the exact same issue. No type of restart works. The Fitbit it still tracking information but I cannot see or use the display.

I'm starting to see that this is quite a common issue amongst Charge 3 owners.

Mine has been replaced twice. So far the third one is still working. If
yours is under a year old, they will replace it for free.

I've had exactly the same issue - problem is they have asked me to print the label in order to send the device back - which I can't do because I don't have a printer. Customer services couldn't come up with any other resolution so now I'm stuck with a faulty device with zero compensation. Awful customer service. I definitely won't be buying another Fitbit!
