Charge 3 screen is too dim

I cannot see the display on my Charge 3 when outside during the day, or even inside, on any setting. What can I do about this? It's useless to me if I cannot see it. Is this a design flaw? It seems very bright at night.

Hi there, @Freebic. Thanks for stopping by in the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Charge 3.

To better assist you, please make sure you've restarted your Fitbit device as suggested here How do I restart my Fitbit device?. If the restart doesn't work try to change your clock face. If this fixes the issue, you can change your clock face back to the original clock face.

If the above doesn't work, please check if your Charge 3 is in sleep mode. When the sleep mode setting is on:

  • Notifications don't cause the tracker to vibrate or the screen to turn on.
  • The screen's brightness is set to dim.
  • Turning your wrist won't cause the tracker’s screen to turn on.

For more information, see How do I navigate my Fitbit device?

Hello. I've done all these things. But the issue seems to be that even on normal, the screen cannot be seen under the glare of the outdoor sun, even on a cloudy day. I can see it when I'm indoors sitting on the couch, but this defeats the object really! Do you keep track of the number of times this issue is raised in the community?

I came to this forum for the same reason. It has to be dark with no glare at all to read my screen. I did change the clock, which helped just for current HR and the time, but it's still dim and for everything else it's impossible to read.

I recently noticed the screen is also flipping from normal brightness setting to auto settings and occasionally to dim, of its own accord. Not that this makes any difference, i still cant see it outdoors even on normal.

Basically its a glitch, which is annoying because it means at some point I'll have to buy a new fitness tracker. I hate this disposable culture we live in!

My next tracker won't be a Fitbit I guess.
