Charge 3 screen too dim

I have reset my Fitbit over abs over.  It says to go to settings but I can’t even see it.    It seems like you should be able to control brightness with your phone.  Behind frustrated I can never see anything on my Fitbit the auto and normal are way too light.

This has happened over time. To the point where if I'm outside I can't read the time or start tracking activities because the screen isn't visible.  I've tried moving to a darker place but it doesn't help. It's beginning to make it useless as a watch but there's no point upgrading for the same thing to happen again. It makes me want to try a different make of watch. Very disappointed too.
