Charge 3 steps getting stuck

My Charge 3 keeps getting stuck on certain step counts. The worst example was yesterday when I was at 12,499 and I walked over 100 steps for it to register the last step for my goal. Today, it has already skipped a couple of hundred steps. It was doing this a month or two ago, and it drove me crazy because I try to get my steps done before bed and it was taking so much longer. I rebooted it almost daily at that time, sometimes multiple times a day. I have already tried rebooting it 3 times today, and the step count is still being sticky. I have read that it will update and count the missing steps, but I just walked 20 steps while it was sticking, and it eventually added 4 steps. Chronically, I can get 50-100 steps in before it adds like 8 steps. It wastes so much of my time and is so frustrating and depressing.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @Iwouldwalk500mi.

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and sharing that your Charge 3 keeps getting stuck on certain step counts. Thank you for trying to resolve this and providing the additional details. I totally understand how you are feeling and I am here to help. Sometimes, when you start walking, your steps may not update on your device right away. After about 10-15 continuous steps, you'll notice the steps catch up and start updating in real time with each step you take. Since you've tried to restart the tracker, I recommend confirming if you have a non-dominant wrist setting as it increases the sensitivity of step counting and should reduce any under counting of steps. For more information, see Does the wrist I wear my device on affect accuracy?
