Charge 3 stopped working

Hi, 

my charge 3 suddenly stopped working today. It was showing a smiley face when charging earlier today, but now display is black. It worked perfectly well before I charged it this morning. As there is no customer support in Singapore, can you pls help? Thank you!

I'm sorry to hear that your Fitbit Charge 3 display is black. Thank you for the information provided.

 

On this case, please follow the troubleshooting steps on this article

 

If this doesn't work, you can perform a long restart:

 

  1. Connect the device to the charging cable. 
  2. While the device is plugged into the charging cable, press and hold the button down for 15 seconds. 
  3. The device turns on and shows a battery icon. Two vibrations occur: first a short vibration, then a medium vibration. 
  4. The device turns off.
  5. The device turns on and shows a progress bar and short vibrations occur. The progress bar completes. Note: A total of 7 short vibrations occur. 
  6. Remove the device from the charging cable. The device shuts down.
  7. Important: Plug the device into the charging cable again.

 

In addition, you can try changing the clock face of your Tracker as explained here.

 

Whether none of this works, please verify if your device vibrates when you press the side button.

I had a frozen screen a few days ago and did the normal reset.  All was fine.  Woke up today to a blank screen and no reposo se, tried the normal reset....  nothing.  I have followed the instruction but when I hold the bottom down I get long - about 12 seconds. I vibration and not screen smile face.  If I keep holding I get one or two short vibrations.  Then nothing.  Now what?

Hi,  I tried to reset but the device is not responsive. Here is what I see. Is it broken?

Probably - mine died in a similar way. Got really hot while charging then just went blank. Had been using it for swimming and found water had got in (check the sensor window on the back for condensation). This occurred 2 months outside of the warranty. Same thing happened to my wife's Charge 3.

 

Do not by a Charge 3 again - they are poorly designed/manufactured.

Thanks for the info. 

I guess you are right. I didn’t ware it for swimming though. It stopped working when I was washing some dishes. It was also very hot when I was charging it the first time when it started to malfunction, but not any more. Just show a smiley face when connected to the charger.
