Charge 3 stopped working

My charge three quit working two days ago. I use it on a regular basis for both a watch and then also my steps first thing that happened was the watch face would not appear and then a day later my steps quit showing up on my phone. Is there a way way I can fix this.

Hi, @DRinck , the Charge 3 is now an elderly device in electronic terms, so it is possible that it has simply come to the end of its useful life.

However, there are a few things you could still try to see if you can get it going again.  Plug it in to a wall charger and give it a good two hours charge, even if the screen continues to be blank.  When it has had a couple of hours on the charge, try the restart procedure.  Instructions are here .  The instructions say to hold the button for 8 seconds, but if your Fitbit has become unresponsive you may need to hold the button for a LOT longer - like up to 30 seconds.  You also may need to try this a couple of times, but hopefully it will come back to life.

You could also try changing the clock face on your Charge 3.  You can do this in your app.  Instructions are here .   Finally, it is my experience that the screen gets dimmer over time and also sometimes accidentally gets set to dim screen.  It is worth going into a very dark room and see if you can see anything on your screen.  If so, try to swipe to find the settings menu and change the screen to “normal”.

If your Fitbit is still basically working, your steps should transfer to your Fitbit account once you can get it to sync.  Please see this help article for troubleshooting a Fitbit that won’t sync (except I would advise against removing it from your account - if you can’t see the clock face you will not be able to set it up again in your account, as you will need the 4 digit code).

If after trying all these steps you cannot get your Fitbit back to working again, and you decide to upgrade, it may be worth getting in touch with Fitbit Customer Support on Contact.fitbit.com .  I know that they can sometimes offer a good discount to loyal customers looking to buy a new Fitbit when their out of warranty device no longer works.  I think you would really enjoy the bright colour screen on the Charge 5!

I hope this helps.  Welcome to the forums!
