Charge 3 sync issues

My charge 3 will not connect. No matter how many times I restart it and my phone nothing will work. I keep getting a glimmer of false hope when the pair number appears but then I am let down because I can get no further. I can't even use my charge 3 as a standard watch now either as the time is completely wrong all its good for is the bin. I am so frustrated with it at this point because it is not the first fitbit to let me down. I would appreciate any fixes other than resetting everything etc because clearly that doesn't work. Thanks in advance
