Charge 3 tracking steps while driving

Hello

So when I drove into school this morning the fitbit recorded that I did 1,500 steps.

I recorded that I drove in the activity log this morning but it did not change my step count.

Is this supposed to be a thing I'm supposed to be aware of? Like I mentally remove 1,500 steps from my daily total? I also changed the setting to my non dominant hand while keeping it on my dominant hand.

Can fitbit get on and build a feature that accounts for driving? I voted for the feature.

It seems really stupid for a $200 product.

Hi there @Zatara, welcome to the Community Forums. I am sorry to hear that you are going through this situation. Thanks for already changing the settings on your Charge 3 to improve the accuracy of it.

I understand how important is to get accurate details, thanks for voting for this idea to show your support. Our team brings new features and improvements based on the Community posts, and the more votes the better chance of getting the attention of the developers. You can learn more about how Fitbit decides what suggestions get released in our FAQs.

Remember that the wrist trackers count steps depending on the movement of your arms, when you are driving or for example when your tracker is close to a fan, your tracker counts steps due to the vibrations. You can learn more about how your Fitbit tracks steps by checking the article: How accurate are Fitbit devices?

About the steps tracked during your rides, there are 2 ways you can prevent this:

1. You can plug your tracker into the charging cable while you are driving -- the Fitbit will not count steps while it is charging.

2. You can log the driving manually by following the steps in this article.

Let me know if there's anything else I may do to help you.

Or you guys could make a product that works well enough so that I don't have to go out of my way to fix something.

Its not your fault obviously but come on guys get on it.

The product is almost $200. It should be turnkey, especially after Google acquired you.

You're selling a lackluster product.
