Charge 3 tracking too many steps

When I woke up this morning, my Charge 3 already had over 42,000 steps recorded. I restarted my device from my wrist and it didn't help. Any ideas?

I'm sorry to hear about the difficulties you experienced with your Fitbit Charge 3. Thank you for trying to get them resolved before contacting us.

 

If you placed your Tracker on a nightstand I would recommend checking if there is any electrical appliance issuing vibrations nearby. Your Charge 3 might record those vibrations as steps. If this is the case, please try placing it on a different place to see if the issue gets resolved.

 

You can negate the extra data by following the instructions in this article in the menu "How do I delete steps and floors in the Fitbit app?".
