Charge 3 won’t charge

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My charge 3 won’t charge despite trying the various things recommended on this forum. For the past month I have had to restart my Fitbit to get it to charge but today I have not been able to get it to charge all day, despite numerous restarts. The battery is now so low that I won’t be able to restart it any more.

Hi

Still having problems with charging after trying all possible options in the guide. Tried while there was still more battery left today and it still wouldn’t charge.

Thanks

Hi @jennifer8712, thank you for your reply.

I am sorry to hear the issue persists. In order to investigate further could you confirm if your tracker vibrates and shows a smile icon when you restart it? Please let me know if you're using the USB port on your computer or a USB wall charger?

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Yes it does smile when it restarts.

I have been using a wall charger both with a plug converter and direct into a usb wall socket.

Hi @SunsetRunner, thank you for your reply.

I appreciate the additional details, I understand how you are feeling and I am glad to help. I recommend doing the following:

1. Please follow the complete troubleshooting instructions from this help article: Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging?

2. Long restart:

  • Connect the device to the charging cable.
  • While the device is plugged into the charging cable, press and hold the button down for 15 seconds.
  • The device turns on and shows a battery icon. Two vibrations occur: first a short vibration, then a medium vibration
  • The device turns off.
  • The device turns on and shows a progress bar and short vibrations occur. The progress bar completes. Note: A total of 7 short vibrations occur.
  • Remove the device from the charging cable. The device shuts down.
  • Important: Plug the device into the charging cable again.

3. Force quit the Fitbit app.

4. Reboot your phone.

5. Open the Fitbit app and tap your profile picture from the Today tab.

6. Tap Set Up a Device. Choose your device and follow the on-screen instructions to continue.

The complete troubleshooting instructions can be found at Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?

Keep me posted on the outcome.
