Charge 3 won’t restart

Charge 3 is about 2 years old.  Worked fine until I charged it yesterday. While still on the charger it had a single white line across the screen.  Never saw that before. When removed from the charger it rapidly flashed between the Home Screen and Sleep DND, and vibrated. I placed it back on the charger. When removed it briefly showed the Home Screen then went blank. I read all similar posts and tried all the remedies. Nothing has worked. After the first Long Restart I got a 001 error message. Now when pressing the button for a Long Restart the Smiley Face lights. When I remove it from the charger the Smiley Face remains for a few seconds then it goes blank. Replacing on the charger does nothing. Please help.  I’ve been trying to fix it for the past two days.
