Charge 3 won't sync automatically

I have to manually synch now - it used to synch automatically!  How to fix?

Please restart your Charge 3 as described in this help article. After this, check out this help page, under the subject "How do I sync my device with the Fitbit app?".

 

Finally, monitor your tracker during the next 24 hours and see if it syncs automatically.

Well, no change.  I still have to manually synch from my phone every single time.
