Charge 3 won't sync to my computer

Help, my fitbit is not syncing to my computer.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled and have had staff help and it still does not sync.  I have spent hours upon hours to set my device up. If I can't get it up and running this will be the biggest waste of money.  I will never ever recommend a fit bit to anyone nor purchase one again.

It's probably something simple. First though, has it ever synced to your computer? If so, do you sync it with other devices, such as a smart phone or tablet? I really like their Android interface for my tablet and the Windows 10 app. But here's the problem. Even if you disconnect your Bluetooth connection from another device, you will have to delete your Windows 10 Bluetooth connection with your Charge 3 device and let the app rediscover your Charge 3 and connect again. I think it's a Bluetooth security feature or a problem. Also, if you are attempting to sync with your computer, don't have another device that you have synced with within 50 feet of your computer. Better yet, turn off all your other Bluetooth devices that you have synced your Charge 3 with and then try the above syncing instruction with your computer. Good luck.

Fitbit Charge 3 syncs automatically and wirelessly to computers and 200+ leading iOS, Android & Windows devices using Bluetooth LE wireless technology. Windows compatibility coming soon.

Syncing requires Bluetooth LE and Internet connection. Windows 10 computers that do not have Bluetooth LE will need a wireless sync donglein order to sync.

  • Syncs with iOS 10 and later, Android 5.0 and later and Windows 10 devices. Check yours here.Windows compatibility coming soon.

thank you but it is now syncing and I don't know what I did that had it start.  I think there is a problem with the program set up.  Unfortunately know instructions are given on how to set up.  I am just happy it is know doing what it should.

UPDATE: I think it was yesterday that I noticed I could sync to Windows 10 after a previous sync with an Android device. Confirmed that just now. Not sure who fixed what but I sure am happy I don't have to delete my Charge 3 anymore.

No. It must have been something else, because I had to delete my Bluetooth pairing and re-pair my Charge 3 again today. Shucks.

I cannot get my charge 3 to sync properly to my phone Samsung S7Edge or my computer.  the screen on my fitbit just keeps saying go to fitbit,.com/setup and download the app which I have done but it wont let me past that stage.  I have previously had a charge HR so already have an account.  I have tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling and have also turned Bluetooth off then back on and also my phone off then on all to no avail

It is important when setting up for the first time to have either your
phone with the proper Fitbit app installed or a Windows 10 laptop with the
Fitbit app installed. Pick one or the other and turn the other one off.
Then proceed with the setup which should work now.

It is also very helpful to only have one Fitbit app (Android, iOS, Windows 10) launched and communicating by Bluetooth with the Charge 3. Any other suitably enabled device within about 40 feet will interrupt the sync function. Enjoy!

Once again I noticed last week sometime (April 6-11, 2020) that I was able to sync with Android devices and also my Windows 10 laptop without having to delete and restore my Windows Charge 3 Bluetooth device setting. I would imagine that a sync would still not be possible with two (or more) devices on and in close proximity to each other. That is fine, I usually only sync to one device at a time. Now if we can just get the oxygen variation graphics in the sleep section of the Windows 10 app, life would be good.

Do we have to have a bluetooth dongle or can we sync to a computer with the charging cord?? #Charge3

The Fitbit app for a computer will only work on Windows 10 (don't know about iOS offhand), and have wifi as well as Bluetooth connectivity. If you don't have Bluetooth organic to your syncing device then a dongle as you say would be appropriate. You install the app and link it with your Charge 3 which if I remember did involve connecting the charging apparatus. Anyway, you don't need to do any Bluetooth pairing and they just recently fixed some of the problems of pairing your Charge 3 with multiple devices. Only have one pairing device on at a time though, as they will still interfere and you won't be able to sync. The charging cable as far as I know is only for charging (two pins).
