Charge 4 DEAD

My FitBit went black this morning. I re-booted, got smiley face & let it charge. The screen was working after charging it but the time was wrong. Like an hour & a few minutes off. Very odd….

Later in the day it went totally black. I contacted support via chat, did problem solving & it’s still dead. IOS app can’t locate it, it’s dead. Happened before with all FB models I have had. I love my FB but am now frustrated. Not sure what to do. 

UPDATE- I was able to finally power on my FB last night & sync. It was charged 100% & showed the correct time. Woke up & the screen is black & its 0%… Would a factory reset wipe ALL my FB info out on my app? I wouldn’t think so. This FB is clearly toast so I thought I may try this as a last ditch effort. I have a ticket # & will contact support again later. Feels like the movie Groundhog Day as it seems like I go through this same dance yearly.

VicLuv, If you have an Android phone with a less than a v10 Android version, your charge 4 will not work now.  They did an update back on August 10 and since then Android phones with that version are no longer compatible.  Just learned that today after 10 days of no one knowing anything.  Finally got a Support person who diagnosed the problem.

Thanks so much. I have the IOS app on my IPad. I wonder if this is the case with it. I’ll ask when I reach out AGAIN today.

 

 My device still has a black screen & now won’t charge at all or at least it’s not responding… No smiley face popping up. The green sensor light works intermittently. I’ve done all the troubleshooting except a factory reset. Support stated to hold off, they’d take my case to the team & get back. Still waiting… Very frustrated.

Same thing is happening to me. My Charge 4 screen is black and unresponsive. iPhone app showed it was fully charged. I deleted the Charge 4 from the app and when I tried to reinstall it could not find the device.

I’m contacting Support - again…. I can’t stand to be without my FB. It reminds me to do everything. 😞

Same thing happened to my Charge 4 this week. Was fine then dead, was able to charge back to 100% and 10 minutes into a run, dead again.

Please let us know what you find out... timing is too close to be coincidence.

Someone broke something somewhere...  Ever since I returned from 2 time zones away on 8/17 I have not been able to get my Charge 4 to get back to the correct time, it's stuck at 2 hours off - very annoying!  Fitbit will sync with a Samsung Galaxy S10 phone, Asus (Android) tablet, and new iPad Mini, but none will show the Charge 4 as device in Bluetooth paired devices.  Although sometimes Bluetooth will show a MAC address for an 'Available Device' but it never changes to 'Charge 4'.  Will try contacting Support.

Turned out to be my bad in this case.  I used to have Auto Time Zone turned On, but when I got a new phone, it was defaulted to Off I guess.  Turned On under settings and Charge 4 is now correctly using 'Network Time'.  However my 3 devices still do not show the Charge 4 as a connected device under Bluetooth settings.  I take that back - Galaxy phone now does show Charge 4, but iPad and tablet still do not...

Ditto here folks. Any good service ideas coming in from Fitbit? Hello?, 24 hour chat unresponsive as well.

My charge 4 just apparently died today. I thought the battery had just run all the way down without my ever noticing that it was low. But when I try to charge it, it displays the smiley face as if fully charged but doesn’t come on. If I press side button, it vibrates.

My battery started draining on Monday.

I will be leaving the Fitbit Family and going to an Apple Watch.   
This battery issue is too wide spread for them not do anything except to offer a 35% discount on a new FB.  
I am done!

Having the same problem with my Charge 4. It was glitching. Went through all the trouble shooting, got it restarted, and 4 hours later it went black. Not even putting it on the charger gets a response. I’m an iOS user so it’s not the Android issue. Pretty disappointed as this one isn’t that old.
