I got my Fitbit for general tracking but recently started training for a marathon and my Fitbit sometimes crashes and stops recording. I've had two separate charge 4s that both have this issue. When running with run activity "on" I often get the prompt that it can't establish GPS and that it has stopped recording it (I run in an area where GPS signal isn't an issue). I have tried using all the GPS settings, dynamic GPS, and it doesn't seem to change the frequency of this happening. Occasionally, it will get worse by recording an amount of my workout but sometime during the run the tracker will crash completely and become unresponsive. This happens enough that I'm not surprised by it anymore, just frustrated. I recently got a second charge 4 after the screen came off my first one and it has the exact same issue.

I don't know how to help, but I wanted to know you're not alone. My Charge4 does this too, and it's super frustrating. If you haven't already, I would suggest downloading the Strava app. I use that, as well as On the Go Map, to track how far I run. Then, I basically just use the Charge so that I can see how long I've been running as I'm running (I can't see my Strava info as I run b/c it's on my phone which is in an arm band) and get a general idea of my distance.
I will say, my Charge2 also had this issue, and I was really hoping that it would be at least better when updating to the Cahrge4, but no luck there.
