Charge 4 battery running down rapidly

I've had my Charge 4 for a few years now with constant problems with the GPS tracker, but after it all worked fine on the weekend, instead the new problem is that the battery now runs down at a truly rapid rate of knots. I keep getting the weird smiling symbol on the screen as well.

As I write, after charging it up to 100% it has dropped to 80% in about 15 minutes. I've tried resyncing etc. Nothing seems to change. 

Any plausible solutions or is it time for a new device or even a new brand?

Thank you so much for letting us know that the battery of your Charge 4 is draining way too quickly.

I suggest you to follow for a couple days the tips described here to extend your Fitbit device's battery life.
