Charge 4 blank screen

I have a charge 4 which is less than 1 year old. The screen has gone blank but the green light was on and it vibrates. I tried a restart twice, each time pressing for 8 seconds and the smiley face appeared then the screen went blank again. Now there is no green light and I don't think its charging properly. There is no battery icon. I tried another restart but no smiley face and still a blank screen. What do I do now?

Hi there, @Wonderfullife22. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Charge 4 before reaching out.

Since your Charge 4 seems to be stuck on the Fitbit logo, please try the following:

  • Remove your Charge 4 from your Fitbit account and your phone's Bluetooth settings.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off the Bluetooth.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth.
  • Set up your Charge 4 again.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Charge 4 once again.

If you can't get started with your Charge 4, usually a missing requirement is the cause. Carefully review the requirements provided in the help article Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?

Hope this helps.

this results in not being able to enter the four digit pair code...cant see the screen even after all of those steps so that leaves the device in the dark and useless.....at least if you leave it paired to the  app it'll remain collecting the data from the tracker and you can view steps and other info through the app

I’m having the same problem. It started about 3 days ago. I tried all the steps advised. I got it to work for about a day. Now it’s out again. Got it to display the smiley face and vibrate. Showed the Fitbit logo with “100” underneath it. Finally got it to display the pin so I could re-sync but it still doesn’t display the clock or any stats. It does vibrate when I press the side.

Have you went into the app and tried changing the clock face by installing another face? Let me know if this works...

Hi thanks for the suggestion. it didn’t work. The app can’t connect to the device even though it’s right next to it.

Update: Thanks for your help will do that

Hi Marrefitbit thanks for your help. I’ve tried everything you suggested but it didn’t work. I  removed the charge 4 from the Fitbit app and tried to  set it up again in the way you outlined but the app couldn’t find the Fitbit even though it was right next to it. I’ve tried to charge the Fitbit in the usual way with the correct charger that has always worked before but there is no green light. As I said before it’s not charging at all. I followed the requirements and I tried a restart when it was in the charger and got a smiley face and the screen went blank again. There is no battery icon when it’s on charge and no Fitbit logo after the smiley face. It’s less than 1 year old and honestly I think it’s died. What do I do now?
