I pressed the button on the side to wakeup the screen. The button is now stuck and the screen is dark. The top of the button is below the surface. I tried to insert a small screw driver down the side of the button but it was too tight. Any suggestions as to how I can free the button?

No no no no no ! Do not try to pry the "button" up. The Charge 4 "button" does not move in and out like a normal button. It is touch-sensitive, and is normally slightly indented, I suppose to prevent accident touching from activating it.
Just touch the indented area with the flesh of your finger, perhaps trying to cover the whole area.

Thanks for the explanation. It now appears that the problem is that water got into the watch and shorted out the battery. Ì decided to attach the watch to the charger. The smiley face appeared and the watch began to charge. It worked fine for a day. Then it seemed to lose the charge again. I'll try to recharge it but I fear the watch will no longer work. Any ideas on how to dry out a watch?
