I've had my Charge 4 for 3 years with no problems. Now there's no display - just a blank screen. It is 100% charged and still syncing with my phone and the green light still flashes on the back I've reset it and the smiley face appeared but the screen is still blank. Could it be a software problem? Currently it shows 48.20001.100.76.

I'm having all the exact same problems. Have tried resetting and changing the clock face, but no luck. I can't see the device screen to adjust brightness. Can anyone help us??

I have the same problems, started yesterday evening. I have read something about water lock mode but as my display is non-responsive I can't get anywhere. It buzzes when I try to reset but no smiley face or display at all.

This also happened to mine last week. Black screen, buzzes, green light still on, and I can get the smiling face, but that's it. I got it to come back on for about 10 seconds on Sunday and then back to black. 😞

I'm not sure if this will help, but it solved my problem, which was that the screen was black and I couldn't read the display.
Press the left hand side button to get the display up (I had to go into a darkened room to read it!)
Swipe left until you get to the 'Settings' control, tap it, this will show you a 'Brightness' control.
Tap the 'Brightness' control until it shows 'Normal', then go back to the main screen.
My issue was that the screen setting was on 'Dim', or 'Auto' - which is also dim and I couldn't see the settings to change them, as where I live it is very sunny. Only going in to a darkened room allowed me to see the screen and change it. This inability to see the screen only happened after I had my Fitbit for a number of years and I thought that it was built in obsolescence, to encourage you to buy a new Fitbit, however it could have been that there was a new software update, as I have found that new upgrades often muck up things that have been working well before the upgrade.......... However if the screen is not totally black and there is a message on it, this will not help. Good luck.

See my reply to the first post. It might help.

Tried the darkened room but there's just nothing on the screen - it's completely blank and won't let me in to adjust any settings - but thanks for your help.

Great! Glad it's working again. Still no luck with mine. It's frustrating!

The problem has returned but this time resets and clock face changes have not worked. I get smiley face or the update line but then black display afterwards. It still counts steps and registered my walk this morning and is synching with the app! Did you have any success with yours?

Did you have any luck yet?
After a week with mine being unresponsive again I got in touch with support and happily I have a replacement on the way. Luckily this one was a replacement I got less than 2 years ago for exactly the same problem.
