Charge 4 not pairing

My charge 4 stopped syncing, so I tried unpairing it and re-pairing in case that helped. Now it won't pair with my phone app. I get a pairing code, but then when I put that into the app on my phone, it doesn't progress to the next bit.

 

On the charge 4 it says,

"download or update the fitbit app to set up" 

 

On the app it says,

"Sorry, the setup is taking longer than usual. Please be patient. We're on it!"

 

After a while on the app it says I need to turn Bluetooth off and on on my phone and restart my fitbit device.

 

I've done this lots of time but carry on getting the same result.

Mine also stopped syncing. I tried all the above to no avail. As last resort contacted customer support and a very nice lady called Melisa helped me. The only thing I hadn’t tried was to go into setting on my device, About, Clear User Data. It has now allowed me to st my device up again and everything is working. Merry Christmas to everyone🎄

Merry Christmas Pippa. After I posted I looked at reviews of the fitbit app on Google play, and from a few weeks ago loads of people with Charge 4s are having the same problem. So it seems to be a problem from an Android update that they need to fix. 

 

They haven't responded to any of the bad reviews saying that they are on the case fixing it though.

 

The garmin app gets much better reviews, so I think I'll jump ship to there. Syncing was such a problem before this, and I never managed to get it to record exercise in Stava.
