Charge 4 not syncing properly

Is it normal to have to remove device and re add the charge 4 everyday to get it to sync? . I have had it since March 2021 and there is never a day that it syncs on its own. Some days I have to remove device and re- add a few times a day. It is very frustrating. What am I doing wrong. I have had several different fit bits but never had this problem or frustration.

Hello @szealand. Welcome to the community forums. @Gr4ndp4 It's great to see you around and thanks for your great input.

@szealand I'm very sorry for the experience and thanks for taking the time to report this. Adding to what @Gr4ndp4 suggested, I also recommend making sure that the Fitbit App for your mobile device is up to date. If it's not, I recommend updating it by following the instructions below:

  1. Open the App Store app.
  2. Tap your profile picture in the top right.
  3. Scroll down to see if an update is available for the Fitbit app (under Available updates or Upcoming automatic updates).
  4. Tap Update.

Hope this helps.

Hi, @szealand, welcome to the community, this is not normal. I have to admit that I rarely leave my Charge 4 to sync by its self but usually drag the "today" screen on my Fitbit app to force a sync. These articles may help How do Fitbit devices sync their data? and Why won't my Fitbit device sync? , I apologise if you have seen them before.

You will see that syncing depends on your Bluetooth and Wifi functioning uninterrupted on your phone, you need to ensure all the Fitbit app permissions are allowed and that any battery-saving function on your phone is disabled for the Fitbit app. You also require a solid internet connection.

I hope this helps but if you are still stuck please post here again with details including make & model of your mobile phone.

Cheers

Although this is an old thread I have had this issue since I've owned the Charge 4. It's been well over a year since I activated the device and at first I was deleting the app to get connected to my wifi. I'm only about 20' away from my router and the app shows "Looking" and the little wheel just endlessly spinning away. It used to be when I got stuck with that condition I could shut off my iPhone to get a connection when turned on again. Now,  even that doesn't work even though I'm showing a solid wifi signal. Only 1 bar on cellular but that should not be a factor. I tried your solution above but didn't work for me. What "App Store" are you referring too?

Hi, @msparky, I think the app store referred to is where you go to download apps for your iPhone. Thinking about the problem you are reporting you do not mention the model of phone you are using. Fitbit Supported Devices provides advice, note you must be running iOS 14 or newer OS. You should also open the Fitbit app in your app tray on your phone and make sure all battery-saving functions are disabled for the Fitbit app. Some phones treat the app as non-essential and put it to sleep where we need it to run constantly in the background.

I hope this helps.

Cheers

My iPhone is a 6s+ running version 15.3.1. I lost all sync function when I did the reboot from my fitbit device on 07/28. I was trying to solve the sync issue with that reboot. Every option is turned on for the Fitbit app on my phone and on my PC. I don't have any battery saving options turned on for my phone. Is is time to delete the app on my iPhone and install again?

I don't understand how or why but I went to the device lock setting on the iPhone Fitbit app. I didn't have a pin before but decided, what the heck, I'm grabbing for straws. Pin set and immediately had synced with the PC Fitbit app. How strange is that. I just hope that's a permanent fix.
