I just replaced my Charge 4 because the screen failed. Bought a never-opened, new-in-box Charge 4. Opened it today, charged it up, and the screen is already failing. Dim in patches, which is how my previous one was for a few weeks before it failed completely.
I saw other recent comments about failing screens for other older models, and I'm wondering if this isn't a Google planned/forced obsolescence?

@fasoli and @wukanbu1 The Charge 4 was discontinued in 2021. This means that the "new" device that you just bought was manufactured at least four years ago. Rechargeable batteries have a shelf life, even if they are never used. It seems likely that the battery in your device is at the end of its lifespan. It is common for a screen to malfunction when the battery is failing. Is there any possibility that you can return this device and replace it with something newer?
