My Charge 4 is stuck on sync. To solve it, I've now:
Rebooted twice
Turned off Bluetooth, turned it back on
Removed Fitbit from app, tried reconnecting to app again (stalled on sync)
Removed Fitbit from app, removed app altogether, turned of Bluetooth, rebooted Fitbit, reinstalled app, reconnected Fitbit.... and it is still stuck on sync in the same place as it was before.
Does anyone else have any ideas?

Solved: I had to let it sit for 15 minutes, quite literally. It's now syncing regularly.
But if this happens to you, yes, do the complete removal as I did, and then let it sit for a good 15 minutes.

Thanks for the tip. Removal, wait for 15 minutes, then re-adding worked for me. Unfortunately, the issue returned one week later.
I ended up looking through all my Fitbit menus and found it was trying to sync with 8 different devices at once. I “revoked” access to all but my current phone and that seems to have fixed it.
To do this in the app go to Account (profile button in upper left) > Account Settings > Authorized Devices. Click on any unused devices and click “Revoke Access”.
Hope this helps others.
