My charge 4 has been dying within 4-6 hours. I put it on the charger last week and everything went dead. No screen, no vibrate, nothing. Thankfully when I reset it the device came back to life. However I have charged it fully on multiple days and it is depleted within six hours. I have reset it two more times without change. This is incredibly disappointing for a device that is less than 18 months old. My older fit bit that is closer to 6 years works fine. Is there anyway to salvage this beyond charging it multiple times a day? Do I need to buy a new device?

The usual lifetime of a Fitbit seems to be around a year, so you came pretty far. Mine died because of : 1. dead battery 2. dead pixels 3. not linking to phone 4. no proper heartbeat recognision etc. etc. mostly within a year.
Regarding my current watch (a few months old Charge 4) this one just died during a walk (less than an hour) which I started with more than 20% left over. Since the battery should work for 6 days, one can expect 17% per day to loose, not more than 20% in one hour.
You're not the only one (and I have read about others with the same (battery related) problems.
So it seems like Fitbit doesn't have their battery management as it should be/one might expect, They even send me an example with a very empty battery, which is very dangerous to charge.... What a risk for a product that is being used by non-batteryexperts...
The rejected my offer for help with improving the battery management. But might they change opinion, I'm still there.
