Yesterday, my fitbit charge3 would vibrate and switch screens from the base, normal screen and the menu screen where you can turn off the screen (the menu that comes up when holding the button for a couple seconds). It did this for a few minutes, then went blank.
I tried changing the clock face with the app, as I have had the problem of the watch going blank, and that would fix it. It didn’t work. The watch stayed completely blank.
When I got home, I plugged it in and attempted a reset by holding the button while in the charger. It buzzed, showed the smile screen, then a progress bar. When that finished, the watch was dead. There is no light out of the back. There is no display on the screen. Attempts at another reset do nothing.
Right now, it’s a brick.
It is a couple years old.
I do not believe it is the battery. I always plug in every day, and it rarely drops below ~80%. It has had no issues with losing battery faster lately. I’ve never had problems with it charging.
Earlier in the day, I went for a long bike ride (3.5 hr). That’s normal for me, but maybe it has something to do with this behavior.
Over the last couple months, the heart rate sometimes seemed odd, with it indicating a HR that is lower than it should be (showing ~95 after several minutes of exercise when from my history it should be be ~130). But it would then go back to ‘normal.’ I attributed this to it being in an odd position on my wrist so it wasn’t getting a good reading.
I completed the last software update a month or two ago.
edit: corrected it to charge 3, not 2
