Charging - Inaccurate Battery Level

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I've noticed an issue with the displayed battery level during charging. I'm in the habit of restarting my tracker after charging just to keep things running smoothly. When my tracker shows a full charge, I restart my device. After the restart, the displayed battery level drops to (typically) 87% and then continues to charge. I've had this happen consistently and it seems odd that the battery level changes after restarting.

Is anyone else experiencing this or have an explanation for it?

It's great to see you around @Oxym0r0n.

I appreciate all the efforts in trying to fix this battery issue by yourself. Please take a look at this post and follow the instructions provide there. Also, if you are not experiencing any type of inconvenience with your tracker, I recommend not restarting it if it not necessary.

@AlejandraFitbit I appreciate your response, but the link you posted is a completely different issue than what I'm describing. You also edited the subject of my post to something completely inaccurate (so I restored it). I am not describing a battery drain issue at all. I am describing a discrepancy of 13% (of more) in the displayed battery level before and after a restart while charging.

You are also the very first electronic tech support person I have ever dealt with that says that restarting an electronic device should be avoided. I have seen restarting suggested by other Fitbit moderators over and over in the community, so you seem to be the exception. Accepted practice and opinion with electronics is that restarting clears any issues and keeps devices running smoothly.

Thanks for getting back @Oxym0r0n.

Since the instructions provided didn't work, I've gone ahead and escalated your case to our support team, for them to take a deeper look at this. Please keep an eye on your inbox for further instructions.

I'm having a similar issue now too. Can you please send me the resolution instructions or post them here for future users to have access to?
