Hey all,
Any chance anyone knows if Fitbit will make a clip (ala the One) so we have the option of mixing up where we wear it? Or if there's a third party manufacture who will make a clip for the fitbit charge2?
I'd love to have the option of taking off the band and wearing it elsewhere.
Anyhow - thanks all!

@mobuli There aren't any current plans to add a clip to the Charge 2.
Like @JaneB35 mentioned, the Charge 2 is designed to be a wrist-based tracker, so wearing the Charge 2 as a clip will likely influence the accuracy of your fitness stats.
If you already have a One tracker, one option is to have both the Charge 2 and the One paired to your account and switch off between the two. Click here for more information about how to have more than one Fitbit tracker paired to your account.

It's probably not designed to be worn with a clip, and track movement that way (on top of inability to track HR)

Totally get that HR won't work. But I had a One before this, loved the convenience of being able to clip it to shirt or shorts or pants with a minimum of exposure. My guess is that the Charge2 will still record steps if it's clipped on in a vertical fashion.
Thank you for the response.

Well, if it works like the One, it will correctly count steps if you just put it in your pocket...no clip needed.

Sure! not bad for waking hours or when I'm at a meeting when I'm wearing a regular watch.
But I don't wear pajammas to bed with pockets. I'd taken to clipping my One to my shirt to use as a silent alarm clock, as not to wake wife. Worked like a charm.
Just looking for a little versatility with the charge2, thought an accessory would do the trick.

Thank you. I bought the charge2 when my One finally died on me (it had been abused for years, and served me admirably, so no complaints).
I love the charge, will just get used to using as prescribed. thank you all.

What do you suggest for martial artists [e.g. kendo (a lot of steps)], as wearing Charge 2 on wrist is not permitted. A clip device hidden and worn within the uniform may be more suitable. While it may be inaccurate, I would think that a clip or chest strap would be better than not wearing it at all.

Yep, preaching to the choir. Something's better than nothing.

I play netball a few times a week and unable to record my activity due to sport not allowing any bands to be worn. Didn't realise you couldn't wear with clip when purchased. A clip would be better than nothing even if not accurate. Anyone know if I can record this a different way?

I agree that something is better than nothing. I hope some third party comes up with a clip because attaching the device at the belt is a better solution than you might think.
My experience: The Charge2 is terrible at counting steps on an elliptical (even when set for that mode) so I was looking to achieve better tracking of the activity. The solution was to puchase a milanese band with a magnetic clip and loop it over the waistband (the magnet secures it through the fabric).
The result? Vastly improved step count accuracy on an ellipitical, and I've compared the results registered on the ellipitcal to the count on the Charge2. I lose steps when moving at very high speed but for the most part the accuracy is acceptable. Keep in mind however that you lose the heart rate monitoring....
I don't know that I'd recommend my solution for the other applications discussed in this thread but the clip option is certainly viable. I don't blame Fitbit for steering people toward the One which is probably the more elegant solution, but the inaccuracy claims of attaching a Charge2 to a belt may be overstated.

I would also like a clip. When I run with a stroller the watch-mounted Charge 2 it does not record my steps!

I am having the same issue. Need to replace my one but not sure if I should go with the Alta Hr since a third party now offers the clip to go with the band or go with the Charge HR 2 and wait for the clip to come along. I was wondering though have you tried it with the One clip or does it not fit size wise?

Actually, I have since purchased the Flex 2 that went on sale for $59. I use the Flex 2 to capture swim metrics and, because of the small footprint, I can wear under sweatband during Kendo practice. I wear the Charge 2 for all other activities and as a watch.

It's too big for the One clip, but I wonder about the Zip clip? The Charge is pretty wide and fat, not like the slim One. The Zip is a bit more similar in shape so I'm going to try that.

Amazon have one
bra holder case clip for your fitbit flex 2 , charge 2, blaze watch, alta, flex, one, zip heart rate + fitness tracker wristband + watch. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B013RZGBU2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_pM9Yzb8MGCGE7
Basically a random clip that you can put anything in, but they are selling it for this purpose

When the One is finally discontinued, this could be a huge market
Fitbit would be stupid not to make something for this purpose

I couldn't agree more. I am really struggling with the one not being available anymore. I am now planning on getting the apple watch. Maybe when they replace the one - I will get one again. I loved it - used it for 4-5 years and just now the battery is dying.
