I am in a community with 5 others.  I don’t understand how one member suddenly adds 30,000 steps to her rolling average.  She has a Charge 3 like me.  Is she manually entering steps?  I didn’t even know you could manually enter steps till she told me.  My Charge 3 automatically syncs.  I’ve asked her and she is vague.  I just don’t think it’s possible to add 30,000 additional steps in 2 hours.  Can you explain this or is something else going on?

Hi @Pkjones  we all have the ability to add walks to our activity log, which adds steps. If it's in a challenge, manually added steps do not count. I'm not sure how anyone can add that many steps in such a short time unless they are really walking fast. She's cheating herself if she's adding steps she honestly didn't take. You just keep on walking and taking care of yourself. She probably felt uncomfortable that you figure out what she was doing.

How would you add walks to your steps? You mean just the regular way?

We are not in a challenge. We’re just in a community.

I know I shouldn’t feel discouraged, but I walk twice a day and do a Jazzercise class daily. I’m always 30,000+ steps below her AND she works full time. I’m retired. I’ve asked her and she basically says she does the same as me. However, I often take Sunday as a rest day. Does that throw me way back with my rolling average?

@Pkjones  you can put in a walk by logging it and it will add steps to your totals - click to read about it. There are a lot of people who have posted about being in a challenge with someone who routinely surpasses their steps by thousands and tens of thousands. Some people are quite competitive and it's hard to outstep them. Sounds like you're doing great with walking and exercise. With the rolling seven day totals, slowing up for a day (or two) for any reason would make the totals be lower for that week. You shouldn't worry about it and maybe ask her what she does to get in all those steps.
