Counting steps for elderly mum

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Just bought a Fitbit for mum today having been told by the assistant that they are much more accurate than other trackers. She is recovering from a hip replacement so is using sticks, stride length is short and movement slow. Have adjusted the stride length to 6 inches. It still doesn’t seem to make any difference where we attach the tracker including waist - very few steps are registering.any ideas please? Trying to motivate her and this is just frustrating!

When holding on to things it will not track steps. Have you tried her ankle?

This is not recommended by fitbit. But you need to do whats best for the person involved

Also please listen to your mom. Maybe she isn't ready and you are pushing her?
