Cracked screen due to high temperature

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have just returned from holiday & noticed that my charge 2 screen has a hairline crack to the right hand side. Fitbit was stored in my bag for the best part of the holiday & was only briefly in direct sunlight can only assume that it has been caused by the high temperatures as not been damaged in any other way. Is anyone else still experiencing this problem, if I had realised that high temp would have done this I would have left my Fitbit at home & taken another watch

that is interesting. We were vacationing in southern Utah end of August with temperatures well over 100F. I had forgotten to charge my charge 2 before the trip and forgot to pack the charging cable. It was stored in my toiletry bag for most of the week. When I got back I noticed two cracks on the screen that hadn't been there before. We also did some walking around in Death Valley where it was around 118F and the charge was still working.  Makes me wonder if the high temperature caused it to crack.

Gsdrule checking the community I think there has been various posts regarding cracked screens under these circumstances.  If it’s a common fault you think Fitbit would update there site, care instructions to advise

Hi .. This has happened to me twice .. last year I reported it (charge 2 was still in warranty) and they replaced it .. on holiday again and the same thing has happened .. unfortunately the warranty for the new watch they supplied only ran for the duration of the original .. this replacement is less than a year old .. what’s the point of having a tracker of you can’t take it on holiday .. design fault that needs addressing .. They have offered a discount on another Fitbit but why would I want another for the same thing to happen 😡😡😡😡👎👎👎👎👎 good luck

Thanks for the reply Shezza8965, hopefully will  get something rectified with it. If it’s a design flaw then surely Fitbit have a duty of care to either rectify the problem for future devices or replace the faulty items whether in warranty or not 🧐

Absolutely .. it seems they are washing their hands of the situation .. don’t get me wrong, I was really appreciative of getting a replacement but the fact it has happened again on a not yet year old tracker is unacceptable .. they need to take the volume of complaints seriously or put a warning saying ‘Don’t take this to a hot country’ as it is useless!!! 😡😡

Shezza8965, Fitbit have agreed to replace it so very pleased with that.  Will be ensuring I don’t take it on holiday next time 🧐

Glad they are replacing but why shouldn’t you be able to take on holiday .. kinda defeats the point on the object .. and the warranty (which they keep harping on about) will only run for as long as the original ran .. a complete cop out I think .. I have made my views known to them but they seem totally disinterested 🤔🤔
