Dashboard Tiles

On the dashboard there is a tile that constantly seems like it is downloading data but never does. All it does is continully show the " spinning wheel of death", I can't remove the tile from the dashboard and I can't even tell what the tile represents, eg steps, calories etc.

@SunsetRunner Welcome to the Fitbit Community! I haven't heard about such tile. It may be an existent tile that is loading. Are you able to take a screenshot of it? That way I can investigate further. Also, log out from your account and log back in. That can actually help with this problem.

Keep me posted! Smiley Happy

Hi there-

I am having the same problem with one of my tiles too.  Judging by how fitbit deals with app problems, this won't get fixed so don't get your hopes up.  They will circle the waggon with a bunch of questions and responses indicating they care and are working on the problem...but again I've seen it before with other problems that are still [ahem] problems.

Hi again-

I'd also add that this exact problem was posted in the community forum at least as far back as last September...  It was also recognized by fitbit as a problem.  Nobody at fitbit cares to fix thier broken apps so just get used to the spinny wheeled tile.

Please find attached photo as requested. Also please note this is only a
problem on the website via my PC its not happening on other devices such as
iPad or iPhone. I have logged out and back in and is still the same, I can
move the tile around into different positions on the dashboard, but it wont
load and it cant be deleted.

I am having the same problem - the first long tile on the top right of the Dashboard display has a constantly spinning circle. I have tried logging on via my iPhone and the tile appears the same. Why is this happening?

Best Answer
If it was the same problem as mine this is what I did. That tile contains an activity goal that has no value set. On mine I didn't have a value set for stairs. It was set at 0 as I felt I had no use to track stairs so I went back to the settings and set the goal at 20 even though I'm not tracking that goal. For some reason the app doesn't accept a value of 0. Give that a try and see what happens

Good luck

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried changing steps, stairs, etc. and the
tile still has the spinning wheel.

Hey MariamFitBit,

Thanks for your suggestion of trying a different browser. I use Google
normally so I switched to Internet Explorer. Unfortunately, there was no
change. The tile on the right hand side of the dashboard stills has a
circle spinning away.

Thanks for your advice. Please let me know of any other solutions.

@patonpar thanks for the update! Just out of curiosity, have you tried clearing your browser's cookies and cache? That might do the trick! Cat Very Happy Keep me posted.

@MariamV has there ever been a definitive solution for the 'spinning tile' issue?  I am having this issue, and have read through many strings to try to see if anyone has come up with a solution.  I am using the One, so I cannot change a goal for steps (as one user suggested).  I have tried every browser, I have cleared cookies and cache.  Please provide any updates.  Thanks

Thanks for taking a break from stepping to visit the Community @ScottTa! Hey, that's not supposed to happen. Just out of curiosity, are you still experiencing the same issue or has it been resolved by now? Do let me know so I can follow up this with our Engineering Team. I'll be looking forward to your new comments! Cat Happy

I have been having the same problem of the spinning "downloading" icon for 3 weeks.  I've used

Firefox, Chrome, and Edge.  Nothing works.

I did, however, discover that it is the Steps tile when I was intending to change my daily steps goal.

Steps is one of the two most important tiles for me and I use this for a medical program so I hope FitBit will do something actually to fix this, or give a definite answer.  It appears to be only in the conversation mode for the last eight months!

Thanks!

No one, not even a FitBit employee, has answered this question in the five hours since it was posted.

When I went to my hospital program this afternoon - the program that uses the FitBit and spent a lot of money on a lot of FitBit Charge HR's - they, too, got a spinning wheel.  With their tech department constantly monitoring the facility's computer network, I'm sure they are constantly doing what your FitBit staffer mentioned, clearing the cache et al.

I, too, have cleared my cache and cookies and the wheel is still spinning.  As I mentioned in my earlier post I have also tried this in three different browsers.

Please, FitBit,  get someone who knows something on this problem, which is at least three weeks old for me, and which has been posted about since last January.  That's eight months without a resolution from FitBit, a very long time to ignore the problem of paying customers.

@fitdd thanks for joining us in this conversation and for bringing this up to my attention. Let's try a couple of things here. Cat Very Happy Add a tile to your dashboard, then refresh your browser. Also, if possible, mouse hover over a tile and remove the tile from the dashboard, then adding the tiles back. After adding the tiles back, refresh your browser again.

Post me a screenshot so we can find solutions for this here in the Community! Cat Very Happy I'll be looking forward to your new comments.
