Device not tracking Sleep Stages

Two days ago, I started getting the basic sleep chart.  Is it a coincidence that the same day, I noticed the blood oxygen level chart showing.  I have a charge 2 and want the more detailed sleep chart back up and running.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention and the details that were shared in your post. Let me share with you that there are a few scenarios where you might see your sleep pattern (which shows your time asleep, restless, and awake) instead of sleep stages, find them as follows:

 

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results you can  wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

Thanks for getting back to me. I have followed all those instructions and
still get the basic chart.

I really would love to have the updated chart to check on my limited deep
sleep in order to change my habits (when I discover the secret)

Did you make any adjustments to get it to work? I’ve had the same problem and have tried every fix tech support has given me without success.

Hi,

I didn't do anything different, just keeping fingers crossed that the new
sleep chart continues to show.

Ricardo Fitbit, a Fitbit moderato,r contacted me with the same advice you
find online, but after that contact, my chart is working again. Maybe he
did something.

After 2 days of the "good chart", I am now back to getting the basic one.  No changes on my part.  What can I do?

I finally gave up and cancelled my Premium subscription. My personal view is that they may be trying to phase out the Charge 2 much like Apple will phase out older versions of phones - slowly dropping certain functionality until you buy a newer version out of frustration.
