Go to Settings -> Brightness and tap that between Dim / Normal / Auto... somehow it manages to switch itself to Dim so it's impossible to see when outdoors.

On the app or the device? There doesnt seem to be anywhere in the app to fix that and my screen is completely black. It vibrates when I press the button and/or plug in the cable, but I cant see anything to be able to make changes on the device itself.
