Display not working

My Fitbit is not showing anything on the display.  It still is keeping track of my information, because it is showing up on my dashboard on the Fitbit website, but nothing is on my display.  It is totally blank---not even the date and time are showing.  Is there a way to "reset" the display?

Thanks for getting back to us @GCF66. I'll be glad to assist you with your Charge 2 display inquiry. Thank you for letting us know that your information is showing up on your Fitbit online dashboard.

To get your display on again I recommend restarting your Charge 2:

  1. Plug the charging cable into the USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
  2. Clip the other end of the charging cable to the port on the back of the tracker. The pins on the charging cable must lock securely with the port.
  3. Make sure the button on your tracker is aligned with the button opening on the charging cable. You’ll know the connection is secure when the tracker vibrates and you see a battery icon on your tracker’s display.
  4. Press and hold the button to restart your tracker for 4 seconds. When you see the Fitbit logo and the tracker vibrates, the tracker restarted.
  5. Unplug your tracker from the charging cable.

Please let me know how it goes.

I did all that.  At first it seemed to work, but now it won't hold a charge.  I will get the battery icon on the screen with an exclamation point in the center of it as if the battery is dead.  I will let it charge for a few hours until the battery icon is solid (full charge).  But as soon as I take it off the charger and put it back on my wrist, it's dead again almost immediately.  This has happened about 2 times already today.  It's only 2 months old.

I am having the same issue and have tried the steps you listed, but my display is still blank.  What is causing this issue?  Is there anything else I can try?

Same happened suddenly yesterday 1st March 2020 and screen only showed a broken single white line at the bottom of the screen.

finally the screen appeared just after midnight (00:08am right now in Germany) and weirdly the lcd screen is now faint and more interestingly the normal text is now inverted (appearing backwards) and upside down.
Mine has also reached exactly the 2 year time frame, which according to posts since 2018 seems to be the time these devices crash out?!

There should be an investigation into this product for the manufacturing of faulty product.

I’m going with Garmin now unless Fitbit Co offers a 50% discount on enabling Fitbit users to buy a new device.

WTF Fitbit Co? seriously disappointed.

I have just come to the conclusion that it is broken.  When I charge it up, it will have "power" for approximately 8 minutes.  Then it's dead again.  I have noticed too that the green dots that are supposed to be lit up on the back of the device are not lighting up.  I need to get a hold of Fitbit to see if they will replace it.  I just received it on December 22, 2019.  Very disappointed.  Hopefully, Fitbit will make it right.  Good luck with your situation.
