Doesn't log runs correctly

Doubt that there'll be any help for this. I just like typing, I guess. A couple of days ago, my FB app stopped adding steps from my runs in correctly. I run on a treadmill. I hold the sides because my knees are bad, so I don't wear my FB. At the end of the run, I've always put in the miles and time, and it's added the amount. Now, it's kinda gone crazy. Today, for example, I had almost exactly 10,000 steps before I put the FB down and started to run. I ran and entered the data into the app. The app said I had run 10,500 steps, which is just about right for my mileage and pace. And the total step for the day at that point should be...? You'd think 10,000 plus 10,500 = 20,500. FB said I had 18,007. I moved the run to 4:00 am, instead. That got me to 20,200. There's some glitch in the program -- probably a recently "upgrade" because I never had this problem before -- that doesn't add the steps right. And it's annoying me to no end.

I shall work around this problem as best I can to finish out this year, to see if I can average 20,000 steps a day. Then I shall ditch this product and move on.

Not really an answer to your question, but if you put tracker in pocket, you can probably get decent step count without having to log it in afterward, thus avoiding your whole problem situation.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Thanks for the reply, and I thought of that before I read your answer. I tried it. FB undercounted by about 1/3. I know that a mile on the treadmill at my pace is about 1500 steps. Pocket FB gave me credit for about 1100 steps a mile. Maybe because it's a treadmill. Maybe because I hold the sides and don't have the full jolt with each step. It's in my pocket all day and does just fine.

Alas.

I have really crazy problems too. Mine just stopped counting my run on Sunday. I ran 5 miles but it said I ran 0.02 miles .... I think I am just ordering a Garmin. My running partner has one and it’s a lot more accurate than the Fitbit.
