I live in an area where some serious maintenance is being done on the roads. Because of this it is a very bumpy ride and so my tracker counts steps when I haven't made any. (A LOT of steps because it is an hour and a half drive). Anyway, I've been making note of my driving time (actually I don't drive, I take the bus) and logging it as the Driving activity thinking that would delete out the steps and reduce any calorie burn that would have been caused by those steps. But I just today realized that it is not doing what I expect. When I logged the driving in the morning it did reduce my calorie burn. But for some reason when I logged driving in the evening my calorie burn went up. Why would this be? And how can I prevent this because this seems to be the reason my weight loss calculations are off on the days I have to travel on this road. TIA.

@sidonnieann Welcome to the Fitbit Community! I hope you're doing well! You get calories since you are logging an activity. While driving you will burn more calories than being completely still so this is why you see this. Still if you wish you can share your suggestion to improve this in our Feature suggestions board. Search for the idea first to see if one already exist so you can add your vote. The more votes an idea gets the more likely the developers will try to implement it.
Let me know how it goes!

@AlvaroFitbit Thanks for the welcome!
I understand that I burn calories. But let me see if I can explain properly what I mean.
Consider that during the drive my fitbit counts steps. So my calorie burn for the trip would incorporate my heart rate + my bmr + a calorie burn associated with the fact that I am "stepping". Am I right? Please correct me if I am wrong.
Now what I am saying is that there should not be a calorie burn for the "stepping" part since I am not actually walking. So when I log the driving activity I don't want it to delete the calories burned from the increase in heart rate and bmr. But rather just the calorie burn that was associated with the stepping part. So I should see a DECREASE in the calorie burn when I log driving (or maybe it should say "being driven"), not an increase.
Finally, regarding the Feature suggestion, I've been seeing the complaint about the driving issue for a while now but I can't see that Fitbit has done anything about it. Or am I wrong and the newer Fitbits have solved this issue?
